The Second World Butoku Sai and 40th Japan National Butoku Sai was held in the historic Butokuden in Kyoto Japan in April 29-30, 2002. The Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, Japan's most prestigious martial virtue society (circa 1895) celebrated the commemorative event with displays of Martial Arts from all over the world. Tenshin Ryu was represented by the lone figure of Geoff Murray 2nd Dan (visible in the above photo on the 5th row back middle right in black). The whole event was extreemly well organised with the demonstrations flowing perfectly. it was also an opportunity to train with and obtain gradings from the Japanese Sensei's. Geoff Murray received his 2nd Dan from Sensei Hiroyuki Hamada. The following photos are just a snapshot of the time there.
