Tenshin Ryu Iaido is a style of swordsmanship like many others proved in ancient battles during Japans fuedal past. the lessons learnt and the principles observed have been passed down the ages. Iaido is now praticed as a form of self development and to come to an understanding that all combat is immoral. The term "Saya no uchi" implies victory without drawing the sword. It is the path one follows that leads to a greater understanding of swordsmanship and ultimately of life. For more info go to the Iaido page. Iaijutsu is the other side of the coin, Iaijutsu requires of the practioner development of the mind alongside demanding forms. the emphasis is on speed and fluidity and total commitment as in a live/die situation, the warriors spirit must be strong.
